Another fun-packed day here at Caythorpe is over. The day started brightly but very changeable weather resulted in some wet sessions.
The rain did little to dampen the fun of 24 kayakers this morning, however the wet conditions made Challenge Course and Tunnelling rather tricky. Hot showers were the order of the day before lunchtime as damp clothes were squirrelled away and the children headed off to refuel.
The afternoon saw the kayakers move inside for some target practice at the air rifle range before an ascent of the Vertical Challenge which really tested the nerves. Once again we were impressed at how much the children were able to push themselves beyond their comfort zones and a real sense of achievement was in the air. Each child also had a turn belaying, taking responsibility for the safety rope of another climber.
The evening's activity was an hour long Quiz/Orienteering session with the children allowed the freedom of the site to tackle a range of clues. Tomorrow, we look forward to Fencing, Raft Building, Ball Sports and the Jacob's Ladder.
