This afternoon's activities consisted of Kayaking for one group, whilst the other two groups tackled both the Tunnel Trail and the Obstacle Challenge Course. The 'groupies' managing each activity have been really encouraging and it has been great to see so many children pushing themselves to meet new challenges.
They have squeezed through small tunnels to find mystery objects or a hiding Mrs Waldron (we were playing sardines) and climbed over walls, crawled through tyres, swung across a rivers, walked backwards along a plank and navigated a complete route holding a rope as a team!
The kayakers got very wet but quickly got the hang of changing direction in three different ways and how to use a point on land to keep your kayak straight. They also practised the right way to capsize - which Mrs Brett tested and ended up getting very wet !!!!
After all our activities we went and had a 3 course tea (well, some had room for three courses!). This was followed by a robot building activity - judging of this will follow.
Finally a strict room inspection followed and then lights out. All went quiet quickly.
