Captain's Log 21.10.2013
Heavy seas, mutinous crew, storm brewing... only joking!
We arrived safely at 6.00pm. to a soggy Folly Farm. Despite a really poor forecast for the entire day the weather wasn't too bad and our visit to the Tower of London certainly was completed in no more than a light drizzle and only then for a short time. The Tower of London was packed with visitors as perhaps it is everyday. Somehow on a damp Monday morning I anticipated no crowds and the place to ourselves. We discovered later that some schools are on their half-term break this week. It was a tedious journey getting into central London but getting out was straightforward.
The children were very excited as we neared Folly Farm and were eager to be allocated their rooms. But such is our itinerary that it was straight into the evening meal followed by wellies and coats on for our night time exploration of the site without torches! It was great fun and the children did really well listening and sniffing their way round the woods!
It is all quiet at the moment, so hopefully we can be off to sleep ourselves very soon, too.
Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge tomorrow. Can't wait!
